How to Set Up the DuckDuckGo VPN on macOS

Once the DuckDuckGo subscription is activated on your macOS device, the VPN is ready to be set up. To do this, follow these steps:

1. In the DuckDuckGo browser, tap the 3-line menu > Settings > VPN
2. Click the button Open VPN...
3. You may be prompted in a dialog box to click the Open System Settings... button. Click on that blue button, and if you’re taken to the Privacy & Security tab in System Settings, be sure to click the Allow button
4. In the DuckDuckGo browser, you will then see a second dialog box to add the VPN configuration to your computer. Click the Add VPN configuration... button to grant permission for DuckDuckGo to set up a VPN connection
5. If prompted, authorize the system change by entering your device’s authentication step (e.g. passcode or biometric data, such as Face ID or Touch ID)
